Even before the world around us changed and redefined the way we experience travel, we were enjoying virtual getaways on the regular. You could say we're pros when it comes to planning exciting staycations that lift our spirits and engage our wanderlust!
Whether it's enjoying cuisine from another part of the world, learning the history of our neighbors across the pond, or celebrating a time-honored cultural holiday, we know how to have a good time. Let us share a few of the recent trips we've taken throughout our communities.
Adventure to Africa
Our neighbors at Reflection Ridge (Wichita, KS) recently
adventured to the second-largest continent in the world, guided by Angela, one
of our special assignment managers. Angela lived in South Africa for 23 years
and naturally had dozens of stories and experiences to share! While she wowed
with us tales from her first-hand travels, we learned about African life and
culture and were awed by her many beautiful photos.
Mingle at Mardi Gras
The long history and deep traditions of Mardi Gras are
celebrated all over the world, and Stone Oak (Hilliard, OH) is no exception. Even if we didn't make it to New Orleans, we
never miss an opportunity to meet up with friends for a drink, dress up or dress
silly, and enjoy a good party. Beads, masks, and music—we've got it all!
Travel to Tennessee
We're no strangers to a good happy hour, but sometimes we
add a themed touch to create our own special occasions. During our Travel Across RLC
program this year, our friends at Vickery Rose (Roswell, GA) turned a regular
happy hour into a trip to Tennessee. We
mixed things up with a new Memphis Mule—a refreshing combo of blueberry
lemonade and mint, with or without a splash of bourbon—and clapped our hands
while we sang along to live classics like Take Me Home, Country Roads.
RLC Travel on the Horizon
Soon, we'll be back to regular travel, whether that's a trip to a favorite community dinner spot, visiting another RLC community and doing some local sightseeing, or joining friends and neighbors on an organized trip across the country. Until then, we plan to see the world and live it up from the comfort and safety of our all-inclusive resort lifestyle.
