Capital Oaks Retirement Resort

A recent tour at Capital Oaks Retirement was very informative, with the live-in management showing great concern and attention to the residents. The accommodations were impressive and resident engagement was obvious.

I toured Capital Oaks today because I'm looking for a quality continuing care residence for my 91-year-old father. Sherita was an excellent tour guide and explained all that Capital Oaks has to offer very clearly. I was impressed with everything about this place and look forward to bringing my father here for his tour and a meal.

My mom moved into Capital Oaks. I chose it because it was extremely clean, and I loved the fact that the property managers lived on the property. I've tried their food and I think it's good. They have a beautiful movie theater. They offer different activities for the residents like bingo. It's a very, very nice facility.

The food at Capital Oaks is delicious! My dad lived there for 4 years, and LOVED it! You will too!

It is one of the most welcoming communities. They are very involved. I would recommend it to others. They have a fabulous travel program, in which you can stay at any resort lifestyle community for 5 days.

My wife and I were planning to relocate from MD to NC to be closer to friends and families. It is a long term plan to address my wife's health conditions. We visited several facilities that would meet our criteria: location, cost, amenities, etc. We met May and she treated us to lunch on site, on a Saturday, her day off, at Capital Oaks in Raleigh. I was very impressed by May and her facility. The facility is well kept, good food with decent choices, friendly and welcoming staff, and friendly residents. May was extremely helpful. Not only did she explain everything about Capital Oaks, she also helped inform us what we should be looking for in an independent living home which is new to us. However, we did not choose Capital Oaks but decided on another facility because of the location. The chosen home is 15-minutes away from my daughter and our grandchildren, 5-minutes from our best friend, and 10-minutes from shops and places we are familiar and frequent. We discovered that the monthly cost of the facilities we visited are comparable (within $600) and they all have similar amenities, some more suitable for your age group and hobbies. Capital Oaks was one of our top choices but lost out simply because of our preference in location. But I would highly recommend any 55+ looking for this type of life style in Wake County to check out Capital Oaks.

I went to Capital Oaks yesterday. It was a nice environment. The room that I went into was perfectly big enough, clean, and provided all our needs. The dining area was perfect. It was a nice, friendly social atmosphere. Everything was clean. They have Zumba, exercise classes, a movie theater, group tours, games, and reading. They have a library for reading. Those are the things that I like. The staff that I met were friendly. They responded to my questions. The director was very friendly and very open.

I toured this community and it was very nice, top-notch. The dining is buffet style versus restaurant style like a lot of other facilities are. A better fit for more active residents who don't have trouble getting around.

It is an excellent place if your loved one can afford it. This would be an excellent choice. The friendliness, protection, the food is excellent, and the residents are well taken care of and these stand out to me. There are lots of choices for meals for the three meals a day, plus there is a 24-hour station the resident can choose to access. The activities are very nice. There are outings, games, bingo, happy hour, and more activities for the residents to choose from.

Everytime is wonderful here. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The food is great and all of the activities are great. I'm here 3 years and have been very happy here.

I loved Capital Oaks. It's an independent living and it was very, very welcoming, very clean, and very pretty. The apartments weren't as updated as I thought they would be, but they were nice, clean, and comfortable-looking. The staff who assisted me during the tour was excellent. They answered all the questions I had and they gave me all the information I needed. They knew their stuff and they knew the facility. They went into all the activities, the transportation, and all that so they did a great job touring me. Their dining area was pretty but I didn't taste the food. I saw a library, a fitness room, and there was a pool. One thing I also noticed with them is the exceptional follow-up.

I love Capital Oaks. The staff was extremely friendly, answered all of my questions, took me around the whole building, and showed me all the benefits. They had ice cream all day long. They not only had ice cream, but if you were really hungry during the middle of the day, they had a refrigerated section that you can just go pull something from. Food is included. They had rooms for singles and rooms for doubles. They had two sizes for singles. The room was really beautiful and big enough for what I needed. It's around 700 or 800 square feet, so it's plenty of space for one person. They had a library, a common room where they show movies, and trips to doctors and shopping. They had a contract with a pharmacy in Raleigh. They had a separate little room set aside so that you could go in during the day if you needed aspirin or anything, over-the-counter medicine, or supplies. You could also have the pharmacy drop off your medication there and they have a person from the pharmacy that's there at certain hours, so you didn't have to go out for medication. They gave me some passes to come in at a later time to have a meal, which was very nice. It has a very nice environment. It's modern and upscale. They have 35 units across the country and they reserve a room in each of those units so that if you were traveling to that city, you could go and stay at the sister facility at no cost.

Stopped by this beautiful community today and was really impressed by what I found. A welcoming atmosphere with staff you want to be around-- what a great find!

Our mother moved to Capital Oaks during the pandemic,, and she has adjusted well, thanks to the fantastic amenities and friendly environment. Vaccinations were handled at the facility, and the activities have expanded. The meal options and other resources have been very good for her. We have also been able to provide additional services as needed with little trouble. Staff including Eric Avery have been generous with their time and helpful. The location is truly similar to a cruise ship in terms of its offerings.

My Mom has been a resident of Capitol Oaks for 5 months. She loves her new home! The entire staff is friendly and very helpful. The meal options are excellent and the food is delicious! Capitol Oaks also has a variety of daily activities that caters to all different interests, ice cream socials, arts & crafts and happy hour with live music just to name a few. I give Capital Oaks an A+

I have lived here at Capital Oaks for over Four + years. I just love it. Can’t imagine living In any retirement community that would be nicer than Capital Oaks.

Mom has lived here for 13 months. We are thrilled with our choice of Capital Oaks. The staff is amazing, the facility and Mom’s apartment are beautifully maintained. The residents are warm and friendly here. ❤️
