The day after Christmas, Arline, a resident at Savannah Pines in Lincoln, Nebraska, stepped through the entryway of Sky Pointe Retirement Resort, one of RLC's newest independent senior living communities. She was on a family vacation, while taking advantage of the travel benefit for all residents of RLC communities nationwide.Arline made the nearly 500-mile trip to Littleton, Colorado, by car with her daughter Nancy and her son-in-law, Don. They were visiting Arline's granddaughter, Elise, to celebrate the holidays. "My mom had never been able to visit my daughter's home, because there are not enough guest rooms," Nancy explained. "So when the opportunity came for my mom to travel with us and stay at the newly opened Sky Pointe, we jumped at it."
Arline had never been to Sky Pointe, but because she lived at Savannah Pines she knew just what to expect. Everything met her expectations, and then some. Anything she needed was cheerfully provided by the friendly management and professional staff. She stayed in a beautiful, comfortable guest suite that looked much like her apartment at home, and navigating the community was easy since all RLC resorts share the same layout. She enjoyed the same chef-prepared meals and snacks, and attended a few of Sky Pointe's many entertainment options. Best of all, she proudly invited her family for a meal and to spend quality time in the coffee lounge. "We thought the breakfast was the tastiest!" Nancy shared about her family's visit to Sky Pointe. "The omelets were great and we all enjoyed playing cards, drinking cocoa, and staying warm inside on that snowy Colorado morning." As an added bonus, December found Sky Pointe beautifully decorated for Christmas, Hanukah, and the holiday season, putting some extra magic into Arline's trip.
Making travel arrangements was easy. Arline contacted the management team at Savannah Pines with her preferred travel dates, and they took care of the details for her in Colorado. It was so simple, that in fact, Arline plans to visit her son in Mesa, Arizona, in March. She'll stay at RLC's
Copper Springs Retirement Community for that trip.
Overall, the whole family was pleased with the experience. "It really was so exciting for my mom to be able to visit, yet stay close by in the community. It was her home away from home for the holidays," Nancy shared with a smile.
