You may have heard
the phrase, "Worry less. Live more." At RLC, we love that approach to life.
We're committed to being a worry-free retirement community so our residents can
enjoy their retirement years to their fullest. An important part of that
worry-free promise is making sure everyone feels safe. Over the past year, safety
has taken on a whole new meaning.
We're proud of the way our communities have responded to the pandemic and
adapted as needed.
If you're considering a move to one of our independent
living communities, we'd like you to know what our response looked like and
what safety measures are still in place today. May this article provide added
peace of mind for you and your loved ones as you continue with your retirement
plans and dreams.
Going Above
and Beyond
Right away, when Covid-19 reached the United States, RLC built
an incredible safety and wellness plan with protocols in place to ensure the protection
of our residents and teammates. Because the corporate office maintains strong
relationships with the live-in managers in all of our communities, we can intimately
understand the environment – both physically and emotionally – and make informed
decisions.
From the
beginning, we have done everything required, and then some. Frequent
conversations with local health departments kept us current, and we often heard
we were exceeding expectations.
We have kept a
diligent eye on virus-related symptoms and testing in each of our communities. We
continue to provide masks, take regular temperatures, and sanitize high-touch
areas. We also maintain control of the front entry in all locations.
When local guidelines closed restaurants, we offered room
service and had hallway happy hours, bingo, and exercises classes. We also
started parking lot fitness and walking groups in many of our communities. And,
understanding the importance of staying socially engaged, we put measures in
place allowing friends and family to safely visit while staying properly
distanced with our residents and guests.
For families in
immediate need of support through a move-in, we worked closely with our
seasoned live-in managers to establish proper protocols for a safe and easy
move.
Today, we remain intentional about protecting our
residents' health and happiness, and we would love for you to come and
experience this for yourself. Where it's allowable, and within local
guidelines, we invite you to take a tour and see what worry-free, independent living
could look like for you.
What to
Expect on a Tour
We want everyone who visits our communities to feel as comfortable as
possible, the way retirement was intended.
In the
event someone forgets his or her mask, we provide complimentary disposable
masks. During visits, we encourage all guests and residents to wash their hands
frequently and use hand sanitizer available at various stations throughout the
property.
Ways
to Engage Outside of a Tour
If
local jurisdictions don't allow for an in-person tour, we offer personal tours
from the comfort of your home.
In
addition to a tour, here are three more ways you can get to know us a little
better:
Today more than ever, it's important for seniors to ask if it's better to live alone at home or in a community setting with access to healthy nutrition, social interaction, and precautions to lower the risk of infection, such as frequent housekeeping. For many, choosing an independent retirement community like RLC has been such a positive move.
And in other good news,
