Explore Senior Living in Chattanooga

Resort Lifestyle Communities | October 20, 2017

We'll be celebrating the opening of Ashwood Square Retirement Resort summer of 2018! Chattanooga is an incredibly beautiful city and a future must-see destination for residents enjoying our travel program. Here are a few things to do and  see:

Tennessee Aquarium

Built where Cherokee Chief John Ross established a trading post on the banks of the Tennessee River, this aquarium prides itself on celebrating and preserving the rich biodiversity of the Southeast.

Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge

Erected in 1891, the Walnut St. Bridge is the world's longest pedestrian bridge. A favorite for tourists, locals, and dogs alike, it connects downtown Chattanooga to the north shore.

Chattanooga Ghost Tours

Join some of the best storytellers in the business for a walking tour of the city. Learn about the town's ghostly history and its checkered and colorful past, including the bloody role Chattanooga played in the Civil War.

The Great Outdoors

In 2015, Outdoor Magazine named Chattanooga the best place to live in the United States. From Olympic kayaking and rafting courses, as well as mountain biking, hang gliding, and hiking, Chattanooga is a world class destination for the outdoor enthusiast.

Lookout Mountain

Enjoy the incredible view of the Chattanooga Valley from the observation deck of Lookout Mountain, and take a ride on the Incline Railway, the trolley-style cars that climb straight up the mountain's side. Then visit Ruby Falls, the 145-foot waterfall located over 1,120 feet below the surface of the mountain.

Hunter Museum of American Art

Perched on the Tennessee River, the Hunter Museum focuses on the Colonial period to present day and contains the most complete collection of American art in the Southeast, all housed on a bluff overlooking the Walnut Street Bridge.
