Brigitte's Flower Legacy at Lakeline Oaks

Resort Lifestyle Communities | February 15, 2018
"It's Friday happy hour at Lakeline Oaks Retirement Resort and the boxed wine is flowing."

So begins a beautifully written story by Kristin Finan in the Austin American-Statesman about Andy, a resident at Lakeline Oaks in Cedar Park, Texas. For the last year, since he moved into Lakeline Oaks as a matter of fact, Andy has been surprising a new fellow resident each week at happy hour with a bouquet of flowers.

He does it as a tribute to his own wife Brigitte, who died of stroke complications just before the couple of 59 years were to move to the community. He brought Brigitte flowers every week too - and traveled with her and lived a life with her that he describes as, "the most exciting experience you could have ever had."

To learn how his simple gesture has had a profound effect on both the women he gives flowers to and also himself, working through the grief of losing Brigitte, read the whole article here.
