Parkside Village Retirement Resort
Great public spaces. Has transportation when needed. A very friendly staff and residents. Options to arrange home care as needed from private vendors. Food was marginal till current chef arrived. Much improved. Building maintenance is excellent! Disappointed in lack of garage availability. Management allows residents to rent garages for storage thus denying access for those of us with cars.

Came here to meet the community and offer free eyeglass adjustments and cleanings for my work (Eyeglass World). Left feeling welcomed! The residents were all so warm and inviting. The place is just astonishing too. A bank, hairdresser, movie theater, activity center, restaurant with their own sous chef, shuttle, activities coordinator, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Even the Koi in the pond under the large atrium at the entrance were friendly! What I place. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! Hopefully, we will see all your beautiful faces again soon!

I am very pleased to write this review for Parkside. I moved here from Central CA in May '23. Before coming to tour Parkside, I toured 5 other retirement facilities here in Aurora, CO. Almost immediately, there was a sense and atmosphere of friendliness that I did not sense in the other 5 facilities; in fact quite the contrary. I told my daughter who was with me that I wanted to live here at Parkside. I have mentioned to persons touring Parkside, that if he/she/they choose Parkside and like it here half as much as I do, he/she/they will love it here! The other residents here are wonderful, and I have met some of my best friends here. The food and activities are great. DR

Let me begin by saying this review is long overdue but very important to note, very deserving of a great group of people. After realizing my mom needed more help with some struggles she was facing, we began the search for a retirement home. The words themselves can paint a dreary picture in some minds, along with concerns we all share; Will she be safe, will she be happy, will she have help when she needs it... all valid concerns that are not always answered. We looked at a few places, looked online for weeks, and after all the tours and research with help from an advisor, we found Parkside Village. Well, our search was over. Everyone there seemed so nice, and caring and everything sounded great. We selected a perfect apartment with an amazing view and the wagons were loaded. After moving in, I wanted to write a review to explain how much we liked the community, the amenities, the food, the service, the staff, etc. I thought maybe I should wait and give it some time as it was only the first week. You can have a beautiful facility with unhappy folks inside. Mom has now been there going on 4 months and guess what we have witnessed in that time... Let's just say, we're over the moon if that's still relevant. The facility is amazing, starting when you enter with a kind hello & always a friendly smile from Michelle or Doris at the front desk. They are the "go-to" for anything anyone needs help with, they don't miss a beat with information and help. Then on to a beautiful rock fountain with Koi fish waiting to greet you. The 3 stories above are open (like a mall or cruise ship) which creates a visual comfort of directional understanding. This allows residents struggling with confusion or dementia a calming assurance of their location. Very easy to navigate. There are always great activities planned and run by Karen who does a great job and is very involved with each resident. From games to exercise classes, pitching in at happy hour, she's always moving and keeping the residents in shape. On to the dining room where Brie runs a tight organized and incredibly kind crew. The staff is very familiar with every resident and knows them all by first name. Tonya works a mean oven and works incredibly hard to make sure everyone gets enough to eat. Venita, simply can't do enough for everyone she encounters. Treats every resident like family and the care really shows. Parkside also offers help with cleaning and help with linens, in this case, Shannon cannot be topped. Talk about going above and beyond, she is so helpful and kind and loved and appreciated by my mom. Next, let's move to maintenance... I'm going with off-the-charts! Bill... one of the happiest, friendliest, good-spirited men I have ever met. It's truly infectious... He's always in a good mood and truly loves his job. He loves helping every resident with anything they need and consistently does it with a smile. Lastly, this couldn't all just be a coincidence, this comes from creating the right environment from the top. Kudos to Ken & April who run a tight yet amazing ship. Everything seems to run smoothly and efficiently and everyone on the staff just exudes kindness. That's not always easy to accomplish with daily issues that can change the course quickly. My apologies to anyone I forgot, but the staff behind the scenes deserve a round of applause as well. All in all from one happy resident, happy son... GREAT JOB PARKSIDE VILLAGE! THANK YOU ALL

The staff at Parkside are always so kind and thoughtful. My grandmother is the sweetest person I know, and making sure she's taken care of when I'm in another state is difficult to say the least. When I visit, I can feel the warmth and care that Parkside has towards her and it gives me so much comfort knowing she is happy and being well looked after by such loving people.

Parkside Village Retirement Resort was updated and beautiful. It's very nicely decorated. It's newer. They have open hallways, and they have a theater for movies. They have a beautiful theater setting. The dining area was okay. I wasn't as impressed with the dining room. There are pros and cons to everything. The main reason that I chose not to go there was the lack of accommodation for gluten-free meals, and I need to be gluten-free. But it was a beautiful facility. The staff who toured me around was fine. I had no problem with anybody.

Parkside Village Retirement Resort is a beautiful place. It's only four years old. It's fairly small compared to some of the others, but the amenities and basically everything is all-inclusive. They give you everything. You get three meals a day except on Sunday because they have brunch. The rooms were nice, and they got different types. They have activities that are published on their daily calendar. They have other activities that are set up by the residents, meaning if you've got five people that want to play bridge, you play bridge. If you've got Wii bowling, they do that. They've got bingo, movies, and an open area that's well landscaped. Dogs are allowed. They got a small dog park, but there's a huge one close by that's from the City of Aurora and there's no fee for the dog.

Do not move here. You will regret it. Terrible Managers, Terrible Food, Not Chefs as they try to make people think they are. You have to pay thousands of dollars to live here for a one bedroom. Also the rooms look nice from pictures, but it’s cheaply made especially the appliances. I went three months without a dishwasher. My dishwasher quit working. They put in one from another room, it didn’t work they put in three I believe it was, none of them worked. When the new Manager moved in his dishwasher was then brought up to my unit and it worked & is still working. The microwave continually blows the power. They say they have a static problems. The Refrigerator runs loud day in and day out. The paint is flat paint especially around the kitchen sink. There should have been a backsplash around the kitchen sink. It looks bad, especially if you’ve been here a long time. They can’t keep people. Your told everyone is so happy by managers but you hear the complaints. I lost count of the Managers in the last 2 years. They come and go as fast as you can say it. It looks like a neat place to live until you move in. They have Direct TV is here. The worst and cheap tv company. It can barely rain and the tv goes out. They changed to a sports package that was a waist of money. If you need maintenance you wait in line forever because they don’t care if you need them, they work according to what the manager feels comes first. The alarms constantly goes on for a long time, there’s nothing wrong but it seems forever they go. Last winter pipes burst in 4 -5 units. The rules they constantly make is crazy around here. The trash bins reek so badly they leave the trash in there for several days at times and when you open the door you have to hold your breath and get out as soon as you can. It’s pretty bad when you have to buy costly appliances so you can watch TV. Supposedly too many people have their TVs on. People move in and move out because when you don’t get good food and you have to buy your own groceries, people move out. You also get a stackable washer & Dryer. They do not work well. I put in several maintenance orders, yet maintenance never responded and if you have to keep calling asking why, it eventually upsets management. So you let it go. I’ve tried to work with the management especially home office, then new rules are made. All they care about is your money. The food is awful. Well I let management know I will be moving out. They place games here and has a theaters that plays such old old movies. They constantly send notices around wanting the residents to lie about how wonderful it is to live here, and they will pay you $500 - $1000 dollars. They even wanted a resident to be over this, well no one stepped up. Why? Because you wouldn’t have any friends. They would be angry with you if they took the trouble to pack up and move, to have to pack up again and leave. I wrote this review because it’s not worth $3055.00 plus have to have to buy your own groceries. The elderly needs healthy food not frozen food. They will get little tart shells and put 1 tsp cherry pie filling in it and call it cherry pie. Simply things can be made to feed people at hardly a cost. I spoke to the manager about this. Yet it goes in one ear and out the other. I’m going to make sure my reviews stay on this. The elderly deserves better than what there getting. The elderly who are sick should be able to pick what they want for there meals. We all get a menu. We get a new menu sent to our front doorstep on Thursday evenings. I write from Sunday thru Sat what I want for each meal with how many servings I want. I walk down to the front desk by Fri to Sat evening. Everything was good but they get vindictive because you aren’t doing what they want to do. They want to control you. Some people are at high risk of getting sick. They don’t care, yet people are not wearing mask, there’s no social distancing. The Corporate office Manager told me to work with them and choose what I wanted. Then new rules. All the ones that has room service is being punished because we set this up before signing the contract. Every time I see someone here being showed units, I want to scream DON’T DO IT. SO I’m determined to keep these reviews in to prevent someone else of making the mistake I made.

We absolutely love Parkside Village Resort Community, it feels like a vacation every day. My husband Thomas (T.C.) and I were skeptical at first about living in a senior community. After we were given a tour by Ms. Margo Campbell, Sr. Living Consultant, met some of the staff, and were treated to an awesome lunch we were "all in!" In spite of the pandemic restrictions that were put in gear as we were moving in, it remained the friendliest, most upbeat place ever. The food is epic, always two entrees to choose from, and dessert every day. There are snacks, soft-serve ice-cream, sundaes, and lattes available all day, every day. There are activities, too many to mention. The staff is always looking out for our well-being, offer assistance with everything, and are always available. Your privacy is also respected and to top it off there's room service available. We hope to be here for a very looong time, it is second-to-none!

I have lived at Parkside Village for 2 years - I moved here shortly after it opened. I love my beautiful, spacious apartment - the friends I've made here and the variety of activities such as watercolor painting, book club discussions, card, and sports games. The management team and staff treat us like VIPs. I made an excellent choice moving here.

My wife and I moved from Eastern PA to Parkside Village (PSV) the middle of March 2020. The first two months the resort was in self-quarantine. This meant the dining room was closed, residents were asked to stay in their apartments and all meals were served to the individual rooms. PSV did an excellent job of taking care of residents while still keeping appropriate "social distancing" requirements.
Today, mid-September, the lifestyle is opening up with some restrictions. The chef has been able to "kick" the menu up and meals are truly first class and 5-star. The meals are now being served in the dining room or delivered to your apartment. Your choice. Activities have been reestablished with "social distancing" protocols being enforced. Highlights of the week is live entertainment for dinner and Friday afternoon Happy Hour with again live entertainment.
We are truly happy and satisfied with the PSV lifestyle and service. For us it is the right place and the right time.
