This is a wonderful place to live with a wonderful staff to work with. I saw 4 places, and there were far among the best at 5, and the others were at best 4 of the over three, and were fine places. I am very happy with Evergreen Crossing.

The staff gets familiar with the residents and their families in a very positive way. They are very accessible and accommodating. They tried to provide a variety of activities that encourage the residents to become friends with each other rather than just each enjoying the activities independently.

I learned quickly that senior living is expensive, although Evergreen Crossing is month-to-month and all-inclusive. Three meals, electric, heat/AC, hot water, and cable are included. A cell phone bill is all she has to cover. Anyone entering the process of helping to locate a home for a parent knows the pressure of the process. In my case, it was for my mom, who was living out of state and wanted to be closer to family. Safe and happy were, of course, our priorities. After looking at 15 plus facilities in the Hartford area, Evergreen Crossing was our clear choice. Mark is your go-to guy for information—professional and informative. His patience and positivity made a world of difference. There was no high-pressure sales, and the logistics of moving my mother from Florida required planning only accomplished through his communication and attention to detail. Replying to phone calls and emails after work hours and on his days off was the norm. The facility and grounds are beautiful—modern, energetic, immaculate, and welcoming. Full kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, all the amenities you could ask for, and the food is top shelf. The entire Evergreen Crossing community has been very friendly! She is loving it! Mark, Matt, Amber, Haydee, David, Keisha, and the entire Evergreen Crossing team, thank you for your kindness!

We moved my 90-year-old father there last summer. My mother-in-law was already living there so we knew what to expect. For the most part, my father enjoyed his time there, unfortunately, he recently passed and didn't get to enjoy it for as long as we hoped. While there he did make some new friends, but he also ran into some old acquaintances from his life in East Hartford which was a pleasant surprise. Evergreen Crossing is a nice community with friendly residents. The food is good and the Management and team are super responsive. I will miss going there to visit.

It is a very social, community environment. My 92 yr. old father is there. His opinion too, is very positive. There is a “General Store” that is cute, yet well fortified. They are also associated with a pharmacy that will deliver prescriptions. Nice theater Exercise room The facility’s people are top notch and I’m sure the expenses of running such a facility are enormous. The kitchen staff cares and must consider many diets and needs in this community.

I've moved into Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community. I like everything about it and there's plenty of whatever I eat here. The cafeteria is beyond belief. Everything seems to be perfect. The facility appears good. It's very convenient all the way around. The staff is great. They did extra without me asking, so I'm impressed. The activities are very good. Everything's great and available. Value for money is fair. I feel great.

We have only been at Evergreen for a short time. Our experience to date at this facility has been very good. Our interactions with all staff members has been excellent. This leads us to believe that all other aspects of senior living here will be to our liking.

My parents have lived here for 2 years and love it. The community is very friendly and everyone looks out for one another. The rhe staff is very helpful and friendly and the food is very good. They have a lot of activities for the residents to do. I highly recommend this community to 55 an older people.

I have worked as a caregiver in this community for over 2 years. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The apartments are beautiful. So close to shopping, plenty of places to walk. Transportation is available and there are many opportunities to participate in various activities. Highly recommended!

We looked at 7 other similar facilities in the Hartford area and this is by far the best fit. We moved in the day it opened and absolutely know that we made the right decision. We brag to our friends about how much we love this place.

I did a tour of Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community. When I met with Suzanne, she was very personable, explained many things to me, asked about myself, and offered to do a tour, which I did. We toured different apartments. One was a 2-bedroom, which was too large for me. The other three were 650 square feet and 610 square feet, 1 bedroom, and also a studio. The 610sqft 1-bedroom was a very livable size. Suzanne showed me all the amenities, I spent 2 hours with her. I think it's the most beautiful, independent living place I have seen. It also seemed to have cheerful residents and just a very nice demeanor. It was beautiful, and it's laid out so that in the wintertime, you can very easily walk the first floor and the second floor and get a very good walk-in for the day. They had a beautiful theater. There are grounds outside that are very nice. I found that it was tailored to each individual's needs. They have a beautiful dining room, a salad bar, and a spot where you could pick up something quick if you were hungry at times other than the meals. It's just a beautiful, very friendly place. If I were to choose one, that is the place I would choose.

Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community was a very nice place, but their prices are a little higher. They have a cafeteria-style dining room and it's a huge dining room and you can have your meals in your room if you want. They can bring the food to you or you can get it yourself. You sit down with whoever you want or with nobody if you don't want anybody and it seems like a much more flexible arrangement as far as the food is concerned. We've had the food there and that's very good. It's a beautiful facility. They take good care of them. They're very clean and very well maintained. They have good heating and air-conditioning in the rooms, and they're all designed to be individual, so you can set your own thermostat and you don't have to worry about anybody else's heat or air-conditioning. They allow pets. You walk into the foyer and they have a waterfall thing going on that makes it very restful and very calming. Everything is spacious and clean. They have a beautiful theater that has theater seating rather than chairs. It's got a stage and they have performances. They show movies there every afternoon. They've got maybe 15 or 20 rows in it. It's a big place and it's very nice. It's a little more expensive than the others, but it would be worth it. You get to select the meals. They have a group of entrees that you can pick from for dinner.

Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community has a warm and cozy feeling to it. It's a beautiful place and the staff is very nice to my in-laws. They are very friendly, very patient, and accommodating to their needs. They have all the amenities they need. Food is good. They are enjoying it and they have a lot of different choices. The facility is very nice and very clean. It's very easy to get around. My mother-in-law walks the halls very often. They have exercise classes, arts and crafts, a movie theater, and shows where they bring dancers in.

4 Star but there is some tweaking that needs to be performed at this community. My Mom is at this RLC CT Community and it is terrific I have to say. She loves it here! However as with all communities there are some issues. The concern I have is as a caregiver esp in regards to the cleaning staff and food selection/preparation. In respect to the cleaning staff, for the last 3 weeks the cleaning staff has not had working vacuum cleaners for the individual resident rooms. The common areas are cleaned with the only working vacuum cleaners. But the resident rooms have not been afforded this luxury. For an establishment such as this why are they not able to acquire temporary equipment until the "corporate" authorized equipment can be obtained aka if the issue is that they really require "Corporate" equipment is for the residents rooms. As a note, I have had to personally vacuum my Mom's room for the last 3 weeks, why? I shouldn't have to do this. Additionally, there is a constant rotational cleaning staff and the "exceptional" cleaners seem to have been recently let go. My Mom is extremely concerned with cleanliness as a former Military Spouse . Over the last several weeks she has had to clean her room after housekeeping has "cleaned" the room. Dusting especially. Is dusting is not considered cleaning? I was told they have 30 min per resident room to clean. Realistically with cleaning the bathroom ( obviously the size of the room should be considered but not sure it is really???) is 30 min a room enough?? In respect to the food selection/preparation, the menu is limited in nutritional value( in my perspective) and definitely not a meat and potatoes selection as much of these residents are used to. It is my understanding the new chef has been approached not once but several times with various issues regarding menu selection, food quality and hotness and nothing has changed to date. IN closing, I DO NOT want my Mother to be retaliated against for my comments. My mother is brash I admit that but she does not cause any problems and basically is friendly to the "majority" of the staff and residents. She recently has had issues with the assistant manager and manager aka as I call them the High School Clicks. But, as an 88 year old with congenital heart failure she is doing exceptional well for her age/condition. I am at her establishment almost every day and sometimes multiple times per day. If someone wishes to discuss these issues with me please give me a call . Again I will reiterate I DO NOT want any retaliation for these accusations to fall on my Mother. Thank you Michele Dankowski

The new management of this place will ruin your reputation. Bill is an ignorant and abusive to his staff. A total fascist. I was there having lunch with my Mother and was appalled at the way he spoke to the people who are representing evergreen crossing. I don’t understand how you can expect mistreated people to present themselves as happy to your residence who pay a premium price to rent there. You should get rid of Bill his wife is so so

I really like this place. Everyone is so nice. I was there for a tour of the place. The food is great, all included with the rent. I looked at other 55 and older communities, but this one I choose in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You will be happy you did.

Once the first managers left everything went downhill. The turnaround especially for kitchen and concierge is overwhelming. The husband manager doesn’t care about the residents or staff. I wouldn’t ever recommend anyone I know to go there.

I am a family member of a resident. I am also a nurse, so I was very careful with my search for an independent living facility. I wanted it to feel like a community not an institution. I was grateful to find a facility that was run by such caring people. Yes, price is important but to find a place that offered such quality and friendly caring people was amazing. The management with Bill and Liz at the helm allows me to know they're "want ever it takes" attitude filters to all the staff. Everyone is kinds and ready to help. The appt. is great size, food is wonderful but rally its about the caring people running this facility. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. This is right up there with great. Highly recommended.

Just moved my parents in, and the staff was so helpful! They facilitated the movers' with elevator usage, and had carts ready for our use. They customized a bathroom grab bar location and hooked up their TV that same day, gave the family members a complimentary lunch (which was very good), and many of the staff came up and introduced themselves. A very good start!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is amazing, the staff are always friendly and accommodating, the manager, Bill, is exceptional - he has always gone above and beyond to be accommodating and helpful. The facility itself is impeccably kept and has extraordinary amenities. If you or a loved one are looking for a place to call home and want the best, this is truly a place you can call home without reservation. My father-in-law spent the last year and a half of his life there and loved every minute of it. It was the best decision we could have made. And we would not change a thing.

My Father-in-law was a charter member at Evergreen crossing and loved everything about his time there. The food was excellent, the people were wonderful. It was a big comfort to me to know that he was cared for so well when I could not be with him. I could not say enough good things about this residence. Bill, the manager, was phenomenal. He went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed and was always attentive to any requests or concerns. You could not ask for a better manager than Bill. The staff exceeded our expectations. The facility itself was like living in a Marriott it was so beautiful. It truly made my father-in-law’s final years the best ones. We will miss all of the people and staff. If you want the very best for your loved one or yourself, do not hesitate to come here to this caring, luxurious residence. You will not be disappointed.

Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community was new and they hadn't sold all their units yet. It's independent living but you can have as much help as you need, you just have to order it. I liked the layout, the cleanliness, the number of facilities, its location, and the hiking trails. It's facing a natural preserve area. Everything was beautifully appointed. I'd move in there now myself if I were in that kind of market. It was nice. I like the parking and the availability of garages and that my cart would be parked, cleaned off, and brought to me when I wanted it and that part was very cool. The staff was very helpful, delightful, answered all the questions, very generous, and enthusiastic. I liked her energy. I liked the energy of anyone I saw there. It was cheerful and happy. They have a beauty salon, a gym, and a physical training room.

This community is like a resort. The other places I looked at had a feeling that felt a little institutional rather than a home and here I feel like I am at home. The only thing missing from being a resort is the swimming pool everything else is here and ready.

We visited my partner's father who is a resident of this facility. We found it clean, bright, and the food was delightful. The residents seemed engaged with one another and with the facility in that they formed gardening clubs to upkeep a variety of raised planters to the rear of the facility.

I went to Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community. It was very, very nice and very new. All the people were very friendly. The price was somewhat expensive in comparison to the others that I viewed, but the offerings were comparable. The rooms are larger. They have a full kitchen as opposed to just a small refrigerator. It's much more of an independent living place if someone wants to use the kitchen, but it was more expensive. They have an activity coordinator there. There are exercise classes offered, different crafts, and a movie room. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

We chose Evergreen Crossings because my parents liked this one the most because the chef was from a local famous restaurant they liked, so they were exited about the food. The apartment sizes here are very nice and spacious. They do have a movie theater, barber shop, etc. so anything that you want they have here. The staff are also very nice and welcoming. As their daughter it gives me peace of mind that I can call up there and they can check on them if we need them too.

I worked with Bernadette, Neal, Charles and Susan when considering an Independant Living facility for my aunt. All the staff have been exceptional so far and Bernadette went above and beyond my expectations in helping my aunt feel welcome and ultimately choose Evergreen Crossing. This place is truly amazing. The staff are warm and welcoming, the facility is top notch and my aunt is now looking forward to her new home!

I have known Charles, Susan, Neal and Bernadette since the beginning of there individual times in South Windsor with this facility and its construction. They are all kind and compassionate as they have worked with my grandmother Beverly. I’m extremely impressed with there knowledge, helpfulness, and kindness. My grandmother is so excited to move in and after evaluation more then 12 sites for her in CT I would not put her anywhere else in this state!
