A wonderful retirement community with many amenities. The staff is very pleasant and extremely helpful. I selected the Emerald Oaks on my first visit, and I have been delighted since my arrival.

We spent quite a bit of time looking for a retirement home where my mom could live independently and receive good medical support if needed. Of all the places we visited, Emerald Oaks was hands-down the best solution we found. After three months of residence, my mom could not be happier. The community is nothing short of amazing, and the staff is incredible. It’s frankly hard to tell them apart, except for maybe age, as staff members treat everyone like family. Emerald Oaks Retirement Resort has exceeded our expectations! We were looking for an assisted living-type place for our mom, and we stumbled upon this amazing independent living alternative. Before we were introduced to EORR, we were underwhelmed by the options of assisted living communities in the San Antonio area. But what makes this place so special is that it’s like a mix of a cruise ship and an apartment building. So, it doesn’t have that sad vibe that’s usually associated with assisted living centers. The people, the food, the atmosphere, and the cleanliness are precisely what we were looking for to give our mom the best possible living situation. We love the fact that it's an all-inclusive, 55+ retirement community, and it feels less like a hospital. Maybe it was the food, the fountain w/ koi, or the movie theater… but the grandkids much prefer to visit more often too. I highly recommend giving this alternative to assisted living a chance. A special shout-out to Carol Haffke (Senior Living Consultant) and Melodie Vise for introducing us to this wonderful community. Make sure and ask about the third-party services that cater to the needs of aging parents. For us, it was one of the biggest differentiators that led to our decision (and we’re so glad places like this community exist)

I haven't even moved in yet and the personal attention is 5-Star...... I am locked in a lease currently elsewhere and the manager from Emerald Oaks Peggy has been so kind to check on me twice, one in the past months and today to see how life is...... I hope that once I am out of lease and they have an opening that I can slide in there..... great staff, and the place just sounds like fun with activities and positive surroundings.

I went to Emerald Oaks. They have lots of activities for seniors. They serve good food. The staff was very friendly. Their facilities were clean. The sizes of the rooms were good and the layout was nice. All the residents seemed like they were very happy.

Janine and Jeff the managers have gone beyond the call of duty to help my mother settle into her new home. From ensuring TVs work to forwarding mail and even giving us information on medical help. Thanks, guys for all you do!

My father in law moved in here almost two months ago. He is very happy and enjoys all the many activities offered. The staff and residents are wonderful people who deeply care for one another. The food is very tasty, nutritious, and appealing. Weekly trips are offered along with being able to arrange transportation for doctor visits. This is a wonderful place to live and enjoy life!

Based on the experience we have had so far, I would recommend this community to other families. Overall a nice community with friendly staff, a wonderful/active lifestyle with opportunities to be as active as one would like. Staff is caring and attentive - quickly becoming extended family to the residents

Emerald Oaks Retirement has been a great place for my dad. He has been there for two months and enjoys living there. He has made friends and is active.

Well-run senior living environment. Friendly staff. We were invited for dinner and everyone was welcoming. Great amenities and organization. I could see myself living there.

The tour at Emerald Oaks was very nice. The facility was up-to-date and modern. They had lots of activities and things that I'd be interested in. They had a central office and dining room area with two wings. It's a two-story. The staff was extremely nice, very informative, and professional. There was a patio.

My husband and I have lived here over 7 years and love it!

My mother moved into Emerald Oaks Retirement Resort. They don't offer a level of care. I promised her I would not put her in a nursing home, and I did not. I put her in a resort retirement community. They give them Life Alert buttons, and that's it. She is now in hospice but we're doing fine. Emerald Oaks is beautiful. It reminds me of a cruise ship. It has a main street, a bank, a salon, and a library. It has a restaurant, and they provide three meals a day for the people who live here. They take them on a bus to Target and Wal-Mart. They take them on a bus to their doctor's appointments and wherever they want to go. Food is good. My mother is used to more spices, but their food is a little generic for her taste. She likes a little more flavor to her food whereas a lot of the people that are here, spices upset their stomach and stuff, so they don't use a lot of spices. But the food is decent. The staff are amazing. They are so warm and welcoming. All you have to do is call them, and they do anything you need them to do. They help in any way they can. It's just wonderful. They have a lot of activities. They have a gym, a movie theater, a resource center, an arcade, and a little grocery store. My mother doesn't need to leave the facility if she doesn't want to. They've all greeted my mother. They've invited her to dinner. They've invited her out. It's wonderful. They're a wonderful community. They have games, happy hour, and sing-alongs. They have vendors who come in and offer their goods for Christmas or whatever. You don't have to go out and shop for Christmas if you don't want to.

My parents moved into Emerald Oaks 7 years ago. When looking for a place, for my parents after my dad's stroke this was perfect. Everything is contained in one building. No need to walk outside to another building as some retirement facilities are. They have a great activities coordinator that keeps everyone busy and engaged. My dad has since passed away, but my mom is still there and enjoying all that they have to offer. I would highly recommend Emerald Oaks to anyone looking for a retirement facility. It's bright, clean, friendly, and active.

We really love Emerald Oaks. My father-in-law has really enjoyed it and has embraced the social aspect of it, despite going there saying he wasn't going to make friends and wanted to keep to himself. It has really helped his mental sharpness to stay engaged with people - playing games, going on outings, etc. It has been a really good experience for him. We love the apartment. It's roomy, so he can fit a great deal of furniture in it. He's very comfortable there.

We did a tour with Guillermo Aguilera and were very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was. He gave us an A+ presentation and answered all our questions and then some. We would definitely recommend if anyone was interested in retiring here to speak with him. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

I like my tour of the Emerald Oaks, and the staff I liked the best. They didn't have a pool, but we probably would have gone there except for the fact that they did not have any room. The employees were very friendly, they were just like family. We've tried the food once, their iced tea was one of the best but the food could be a bit better. In terms of the facilities, they were the best of everybody that we looked at because they had everything. They had a lot of organized activities and they were very excited about them. We talked to the people there while having lunch, and they were excited about the place. They enjoyed living there because there is a lot to do and the people were very friendly. They had an amazing theater, it was like going to an actual theater. They also had a nice dining area, but I didn't see much courtyard space or outside area. It's located close enough to many things, it's just a hop, skip, and jump to wherever.

y dad is a resident of Emerald Oaks. It's not exactly the most beautiful rooms, but they're adequate, nice enough, and spacious. But the staff is just fabulous. They all just love working there and they like working with the elderly. And they've been very helpful. When my dad was sick and I had to go get him and take him to the hospital, they had him waiting for me at the front door when I got there. The food is really good. They have a very personable chef. He greets my dad in the morning, "Hey, Bob. You want your usual omelet?" He knows exactly what he wants. My dad talked to him when he first got there, and he said, "you know, you're cooking these vegetables too much. They're too mushy." And so, he fixed that. I've eaten there several times. We just had a party for 27 family members for my dad's 90th birthday. And they served the food and provided for 27 family members. They have great entertainment. One night a month they'll have a location-based theme for their evening. One night they had Hawaii, and so they show a film about Hawaii in the theater, they had four hula dancers perform, and then they go and had dinner of Hawaiian cuisine. They did another one on Brazil, too. So, every month they do a different one. They have a lot of different entertainment things that are going on there all the time and the residents all seem to love it. The rooms are average, but the main areas are really pretty. It's patterned after a cruise ship so they try to provide entertainment like a cruise ship. They have ice cream machines 24 hours a day like cruise ships. And they have snacks out 24 hours a day, juice, coffee, and things like that. Even if it's not mealtime, they can go down at midnight and get a sandwich, hard-boiled eggs, some pudding, Jell-o, or cookies. They were playing wee bowling in there when we were having my dad's birthday party and they were having a blast. They play cornhole and bingo. They always have something going on. They bring people in and do different types of music presentations. And they have an antique car show, where they bring their cars to the facility for the people. They bring in different animals, like dogs, for the residents to pet. Every time I go over there, there's something. They have people in the hall selling jewelry and different crafts and things. They have crafts for the residents and puzzle rooms. They do not have a swimming pool, but they have everything else that I could think of that older people would want to do. It's not the cheapest place, but it's worth it.

I just became an full time employee here...and i started coming here with a temp agencies and was amazed how this place was ran ABE AND LILLY are amazing they pay attention to there employees they saw from the frist day I worked there how hard I work and the place has almost a family feel to it they treat there employee very good because they truly want the people whom live here to be well cared for they go above and beyond and I'm being a 100 percent honest not just because I'm an employee am I given a good review but I want people to know this place is amazing beautiful and just over all a wonderful place to live and work thank you Abe and Lilly for the opportunity to be apart of this family

It's been a very positive experience. Some of their activities include different card games like hearts & bridge, as well as bingo. My apartment is one of the smaller apartments, but we do have a front room, a kitchen, and a bedroom. If and when we have visitors, they have common areas where we can sit and talk, like the library. They have couches and chairs that are out of the way from everyone else. The community allows pets; they also offer transportation to appointments and their weekly store runs with a 24hr notice, as the bus only holds 14. I would certainly recommend Emerald Oaks to others, it's one of the best.

An excellent community for mom, dad, and/or your special person who deserves compassionate care and a great quality of life. 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I would rate 5 stars for everything for Emerald Oaks because they're seriously top-notch. They have all the same amenities, but they had a yard that people could fence off a little portion for their dog. The residents that live there are all super friendly. I would feel like my mom wouldn't be lonely there. Everyone was super social and super nice. They talked to me, and they joked with the gentleman who was giving the tour. They provide all of the meals, three meals a day, and they even have more options. You could get room service. They have a library, a theater, and a place where they can play games. The staff is amazing.

This place is amazing it has so many things to offer for senior. Once you walk in it's class and beauty. They have a dining area that looks like a four-star restaurant I've seen a few apartments in here they are all very nice the floor plans are well thought. Are understanding when it comes to modifying the apartment a little like adding walking bars around the place. Overall this would be a wish list destination when it's time for me to retire

My Mom is a resident of Emerald Oaks. I just wanted to let you at Corporate know how appreciative I am of the work Luis and Judy Pardo have been doing at Emerald Oaks during this COVID lockdown period. I have been FaceTiming with Mom twice a day to check on her. She meets the criteria for the 'most vulnerable' and understands the importance of the stay-at-home order. She has been raving about how delicious the food has been, how wonderful Judy and Luis have been and the other staff members are truly remarkable. There was even a time last week when we were FaceTiming and the 2pm snack showed up! I got to say Hi and thank Dawn, one of the dining room staff who was serving that day, and watch how safely the food is passed. Kudos to you all! Thank you for the nearly immediate action taken to protect my Mom and the other residents there by locking them down and delivering their food to their apartments. My husband and I live in California and it would have been nearly impossible to come and help her (especially with the no visitors allowed). I also appreciate your weekly email updates. Seeing how well Mom, and the others are taken care of, just warmed my heart. I really enjoy visiting her a few times a year, as the staff is always top notch, friendly and innovative in their service to the residents. Therefore, this extended level of care and protection was not a surprise to me. Thank you again for your care and concern for all your residents! I am grateful and wanted to give credit to you, Judy and Luis Pardoners and their team.

My mother resided here for a year and a half. She loved the activities. The individuals who worked there treated her like family. I would highly recommend.
