Okatie Pines

Beth was very helpful in identifying facilities for my mother. She identified two possibilities and my mother was so impressed with Okatie Pines that she wanted to put down a deposit right away! She has been there for 4 months and she loves it.

I have been a resident here 3years & 4mo……I love my apartment, & making friend’s w/my fellow neighbors …..our New Managment Team, Aron & Julie have been a breath of fresh air…with their energy, caring, for Seniors with thoughtfulness,& sincerity. I believe our Resident will function more smoothly with their management……………I would like to suggest that the carpet in the elevator’s be replaced due to wear & discolor……as you step out of the elevator, the hall a carpet has a color blue that could be found in an outdoor carpet & be very pleasing to the eye for new people ,as well as residents…..please consider this as soon as possible……I would greatly appreciate your consideration……

My mom has lived here since they opened. It is a very clean, well-cared-for facility. There is lots to do! The food selection is good. There has been a lot of turnover in managers and cooking staff. I'm not sure if this is a corporate model or just being a large and busy facility. For an INDEPENDENT LIVING facility, this is one of the best!

What a wonderful community! We have been here only 3 weeks and love the residents. We really enjoy the food and the positive atmosphere at Okatie Pines.

I would recommend Okatie Pines Retirement Community! The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. There has not been a need for the staff to communicate with us yet, so I'm not sure about communication with the family. For the meals, I would give a 4 out of 5, they could be improved.

My mother moved into Okatie Pines Retirement Community. I set up an appointment and I went there and it was close to where she had lived before, so it just worked out. Her apartment is nice. It's comfortable. They have libraries, exercise classes, and card games. It's independent living. The food is very good. The place is very clean, and everything is well-kept.

Okatie Pines Retirement Community has a terrific staff! The managers and concierge are so helpful. We feel very comfortable with our mom there. She loves the food! It's like being on a 5 star cruise ship at this facility. The whole place always smells clean. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

Okatie Pines Retirement Community seemed to be wonderful. You get three meals a day. You don't pay for anything, except for a monthly bill. The staff could not have been any nicer. Everybody I met was so lovely. The young lady, Nikki, takes people around to see the apartments. They were all occupied. She asked one of the residents that had a 2-bedroom apartment if it would be alright for me to go in and see how it was set up. They were a lovely couple. They loved it. It had a lovely area in the back. It had grass and trees out there. The front faced out towards the major road (not that you see the major road). It was so well cared for. It was immaculate, and the rooms were beautiful. They had two hairdressers. There was a place where a priest gives mass to anybody that wants to go. There was a nurse. They had wine nights and a gym. The dining room was unbelievably beautiful and well cared for. You can have food brought up to your apartment, instead of going downstairs. Everything was there that I could possibly want or need. It was really top-class.

We're on the waiting list for Okatie Pines Retirement Community. We had a grand tour and lunch with them three weeks ago. That's only four miles down the road from where we presently live, which means we don't have to change doctors or any of our normal routines. And we were very impressed with the whole facility. It's fairly new, and the people we talked to went out of their way to tell us that they had been there a while and they were very happy with it. That kind of feedback helps as well. But we liked what we saw. We liked the size of the apartments. That was one thing that gave them the leg up. That and they had three meals a day available. They have a movie theater that seats 150 people, and they have movies every night. And they're our age, vintage news/movies instead of some of the new things that we wouldn't care as much for. They have a treadmill, and that kind of equipment for physical activity in one room, and repairs and everything are taken care of by their in-house man. They tell me that you even call if you need a light bulb changed. It just seemed as though it had everything we could want. We did have lunch. It was a nice meal. One of the things I'm impressed with is that they have a soup and salad bar, and the soups are homemade every day. We met with Jim who is the salesman. I don't remember exactly what his title was. He was charming and interested in seeing what kind of things made us a fit for them. We met the head of the dining room who was fairly new. They have housekeeping once a week. They come in, clean your apartment, and change your bed linens, which is very nice to know. I know they have a garden club because I'm a gardener, so that was appealing to me. It was generally a nice situation, at least we felt we fit well with them and they with us.

I spent 2 weeks with my father helping him to transition from living in his house to moving into Okatie Pines Retirement Community. I was very impressed with the whole entire staff. They go out of their way to make it comfortable for the residents. They are caring, friendly and helpful. The grounds are immaculate. The food is delightful and each day’s menu is packed with so much variety to please even the most picky eaters. The residents are welcoming to newcomers, and there are many activities to keep them busy. When I left to go home, I felt confident that my father will be in good hands.

Okatie Pines is the absolute best!!! My beloved dad Frank Anderson was blessed to spend the last 9 months of his life at OP, and as his daughter, I was thrilled that he was lucky enough to be one of the first residents to move in. It was new and so beautiful, but even more so, the staff and the residents were a pleasure to meet and work with. I looked forward to each visit with my dad, and the beauty and vibrancy of the building always made me smile. So watching this video which shows the love and support for this gentleman is a true testament to the staff and residents! Wishing you healthy times ahead!

My grandmother loves it there. She is happier than she has been in years. Thank you to all the wonderful people that work there. Highly recommend!

Wonderful place! My dear friend now lives there. My visit was very impressive.

The tour we had of Okatie Pines Retirement Community was very good. It's independent living, and I think they were caring. The rooms were spacious for that type of facility. I thought the staff was very good. The food was excellent too. It was very good. They had a variety of foods available, all of which you can pick. I picked mixed vegetables and salmon. We saw the common areas, and we also looked at the room that we are going to have.

It is a newer community but still very welcoming. The staff members are so friendly and helpful. We like how the dining room is spread out and the hallways are wider so when residents use their walkers there isn't a big clutter. The location works best for us and overall we have been very pleased.

My loved one loves the community. There are lots of activities for the residents to participate in. The residents look out for each other. The food has a good variety to choose from. I'm able to enjoy a meal with my loved one on occasion and I enjoy the food as well.

Highly recommend!! Cant say enough good things about Okatie Pines and RLC. Tamie and JR are such wonderful managers. I am not sure how they do it...ALL of the staff are so caring and amazing. My father has an absolutely amazing experience.

Okatie Pines is very nice. I think what we like the most is the way they do the dining. People can sit wherever they want; they're not assigned anywhere. They go where they want; it's very flexible. It's nice because it's all independent -- it's not assisted living -- and those two need to really be separate because people are very different in the independent versus the assisted. I don't think we should ever put those two together. The staff has been excellent. They really have done a good job. The menu is very good, they can choose different things, and they have a salad bar. They listen to the residents if they just want a little bit on their plate. They're just very careful to consider the residents' feelings. The place is beautiful. They have a very good movie theater, they have different activities, and I know my mom does participate in some of the activities there.

Okatie Pines is an outstanding community, such a beautiful perfect place for a person like me at my age of 90. It is independent living and the lifestyle is simply great. I cannot say enough about it, this is absolutely the perfect place, and my apartment is great. They provide three meals a day and the food is just outstanding. Sometimes we get visitors who can eat with us for lunch and dinner and even they can't believe how great the meals are, it 5-star restaurant quality. There is a bus service here, if you have a doctors appointment or want to go grocery shopping you just have to sign up downstairs and they will take you there. It is super convenient and the driver [name removed] is a terrific fellow. We have a theater that seats 150 people, on Sundays there have a church service, Thursdays at 11 AM they have a church service, and Saturdays afternoon at 4 PM they have a church service. Also everyday at 6:30 PM there is a movie showing.

The cleanliness of the community is great and the staff members are incredible. All of the workers cannot do enough for you, even if you ask for the smallest amount of help they come right away. The staff are always smiling, always happy, there is not a negative staff member at this community. The meals are amazing we have a wonderful staff, and the best activities they are great. The community is 3 stories with 128 apartments that range from studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom. Each apartment has different sized models, the 1 bedroom apartments have 4 different models, I believe the 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom apartments have 3 different models.

Outstanding services, fine food, great activities, well managed, great staff. We love living here. Friendly residents. The place is like a luxury hotel with services to match.

My husband and I are extremely happy that we chose Okatie Pines as our Retirement Facility. We love our apartment. It’s full of all of the amenities we need. Actually many days we feel as if we are a cruise. Each day is filled with a variety of activities such as working out, Bingo, table games such as Maj Jon and movies every evening. The entire staff is friendly and very accommodating. We love the dining facility. The meals are delicious and we have an excellent chef. Many special activities have planned for us. Such as a “beach party. an outdoor luau, a country hoedown, etc. These are very well attended and we have lots of fun. Our activity director is very creative and always has wonderful outings planned for everyone. All in all we couldn’t be happier. The whole management staff is to be congratulated.

My mother absolutely loves it here!! I have never seen her so happy! She says she feels like she is on a cruise ship that is at the dock! 😂. Thank you for giving me peace of mind Okatie Pines!
